The ST – 390 Corps of Engineer Soil Surface Samplers is used to take density or compaction samples at the ground surface. In accordance with ASTM specifications, the surface soil sampler can be used for determining the in- place density of soils at the surface an at greater depths, when proper procedures are followed. The set consist of sliding drop hammer assembly and 12 sampling tubes.
