When standard Proctor was developed in the 30’s it worked well for construction equipment at that time. However, over the time with the development of heavy rollers and compactors, the compaction effort induced by these heavy machines increased gratly. Therefore, standard Proctor test was no longer representing the field conditions. Hence a revised version of this test, called as modified Proctor Test was developed to better represent the field conditions.
This automatic machine eliminates laboratories and above all, inconsistent hand compactors. The compactor is complete with automatic counter which can allows the machine make a number of blow according to a requirement. Automatic compaction test will show considerable cost benefits over hand compaction method
