For the non destructive testing of the surface of hardened concrete in order to evaluate the strength in various parts of a structure.
During operation the plunger of the hammer is pressed against the surface of the concrete. This action compresses a spring which automatically releases a percussion weight striking against the plunger, and onto the surface of the concrete. This impact causes a rebound effect which is proportional to the strength of concrete.
A pointer on the scale indicates the maximum rebound point of the percussion weight. This number is referred to the calibration curve chart on the hammer and shows the compressive strength in relation to the ipact value. The concrete hammer is supplied complete with plastic carrying case and instruction manual. CT– 220, used for rapid quality control of concrete works Schmidt hammer type with built in pointer scale and graph for various angle.
Measuring range 10 to 70 N/mm2 compressive strength Impact Energy = 2,207 Nm
Rebound values are read from a dial
